Bring on the Belmont Stakes! It has been a Triple Crown series full of surprises and I expect there will be plenty of twists for the ten who compete in “The Test of the Champion.” Who will that champion be? We shall soon see. For the time being, here’s the brief on the Belmont.

Bourbon War lived in Midway, KY as a yearling, years before his Preakness Stakes entry.

It definitely doesn’t seem like it has been nearly two weeks since the Kentucky Derby but here we go, it is time for the 144th edition of the Preakness Stakes. The results of the Kentucky Derby were different and unexpected. We will not have an opportunity for a Triple Crown winner this year. Fortunately, there is a large field of fantastic talent entered in this Preakness, which may still be one of the greatest races. Get ready for one of the best and oldest, classic Grade 1 races, the Preakness Stakes!

This weekend, Santa Anita will host its third prep race for the KY Derby and the second of three prep races for their own Santa Anita Derby, one of the most important races leading up to the KY Derby. Watching the weather closely to see if Winter Storm Harper is hype or a horror? It is a wet morning in Kentucky where it may get much cooler and transition into snow. Fortunately, while the storm is expected to affect millions across the country there is a warmer, drier place in Florida where we can view the Sunshine Millions.

The path to the 2019 Kentucky Derby is long and thrice branched but we have already raced the first lucky 13 preps.  The leaderboard is stacked full of talent and many of these thoroughbreds  have proven their skill in multiple races.  With only one more prep race in America, on the 2018 calendar, this is the last chance for the contenders to show their star power as 2 years-old.  Run with us at Remington Park in the Springboard Mile!
