Keeneland Racecourse, located in Lexington ,KY has been the home to fine live racing since 1936. In the heart of the Bluegrass, the horse capitol of the world, we have had to adjust to living during the COVID -19 pandemic. Fortunately, sales and races have continued at Keeneland though in a socially distanced and altered style. I was so happy to be granted the opportunity to attend two days of Fall Stars Weekend after not being present for a live race since the previous Fall Meet. Many of the BC berth stakes were raced during my visit. These are the stakes Keeneland is hosting this Fall with detail as of present.
- The 10th (G2) Stoll Keenon Ogden Phoenix Stakes. This is the United States oldest stakes race. 2020 was the 168th edition. Diamond Oops won for a berth into the BC Sprint.
- The (G1) $350,000 Darley Alcibiades Stakes was won by Simply Ravishing. She qualified for the BC Juvenile Fillies.
- The 24th (G2) $150,000 Woodford Stakes presented by TVG was won by Leinster.
- The 40th (G2) $200,000 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes went to Inthemidstofbiz who is up next in the BC Filly and Mare Sprint.
- The 23rd (G1) $350,000 First Lady Stakes presented by UK. Uni won this race. She will be entered into the BC Filly and Mare Turf.
- The 107th (G1) $400,000 Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity. This race was won by Essential Quality. This colt will race in the BC Juvenile.
- The 35th (G1) $750,000 Shadwell Turf Mile Stakes saw Ivar win a spot in the BC Mile.
- The 3rd $150,000 Indian Summer Stakes gifted Bodenheimer entry into the BC Juvenile Turf Sprint.
- The 30th (G3) $200,000 Bourbon Stakes was bested by Mutasaabeq for a spot in the BC Juvenile Turf.
- The 65th (G1) $400,000 Juddmonte Spinster went to Valiance for a berth into the BC Distaff.
- The 30th (G2) $150,000JP Morgan Chase Jessamine Stakes record breaker, Aunt Pearl, earned entry into the BC Juvenile Fillies Turf.
- The 24th (G3) $150,000 Buffalo Trace Franklin County Stakes will race 10/9.
- The (G1) $500,000 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes presented by Dixiana will race 10/10.
- The (G2) $200,000 Hagyard Fayette Stakes will race 10/10.
- The (G3) $150,000 Sycamore Stakes will race 10/15.
- The (G3) $150,00 Pin Oak Valley View Stakes will race 10/16.
- The (G2) $200,000 Lexus Raven Run Stakes will race 10/17.
- The (G3) $1250,000 Rood and Riddle Dowager Stakes will race 10/18.
