First, ten colts are entered and five will take home Kentucky Derby prep points from the Sam F. Davis Stakes. Camp Hale is gelded. This Grade III race, at Tampa Bay Downs in Oldsmar, FL dates back to 1981. The Sam F. Davis is a 1 and 1/16 mile dirt race for 3 year-old thoroughbreds. This Saturday, 2/8/25, race 11 on a card of 12 carries a $250 thousand dollar purse and posts at 5:14 PM ET. The field of ten are all Kentucky bred with the exception of Naughty Rascal, who is right at home in Florida. The 20-10-6-4-2 KY Derby points will be awarded to the first five finishers in respective order.
