There are a lot of Kentucky Derby prep points at stake this weekend in the Jeff Ruby Steaks and the Louisiana Derby. Each of these American graded stakes had a dozen plus entries competing to earn the 400 points that these races offer. On Saturday, March 23, 2024, racing is on in LA and KY!

This weekend has a whopping five ways to win! There are five Kentucky Derby prep races, with five winners per race. Watch the Kentucky Derby leaderboard light up with new rankings as the best in three year-old thoroughbred racing compete for this pentagonal of points!

Five racetracks, spread over 3 countries are hosting Kentucky Derby prep races this Saturday and Sunday. On March 25, 2023, the UAE Derby (at Meydan), the Louisiana Derby (at Fair Grounds), the Jeff Ruby Steaks (at Turfway Park) and the Fukuryu (at Nakayama) all take place. The following day will feature the Sunland Derby (at Sunland Park).

Be sure to catch all of the action with a large portion of points to see who is On The Road to the Kentucky Derby and the Triple Crown Trail.

The Road to The Kentucky Derby doubles up on the points in the preps this weekend. With the top of the leaderboard at a high of 60 points in seven months of racing on The Road, the best of the Louisiana Derby will take the lead. This race, and many that follow, offer an escalated point scale. The first four finishers of the Louisiana Derby will earn 100-40-20-10 points, respectively! This race has historically good odds of placing runners in The KY Derby. How many of the eight in the gate of this Louisiana Derby will Run For The Roses?

It’s a double Derby weekend!  Louisiana has one, New Mexico has one and in just over a month, Kentucky has the Derby to top all derbies!  We are really entering the final stretch as two of the last 10 KY Derby prep races take place this weekend.  Derby, Derby, everywhere a Derby!
