Currently, the top spot of the KY Derby leaderboard is held by Citizen Bull. He earned a 96 Beyer Speed, racing at age two. Citizen Bull has gathered 40 points on The Road To The Kentucky Derby. He is racing this Saturday at Santa Anita in the GIII, Robert B. Lewis Stakes.
Meanwhile, Ferocious is entered in the G III, Holy Bull Stakes this Saturday. He also has a 96 Beyer Speed, that he earned at age two. The only faster two year-old of 2024 was Rated By Merit, who has yet to compete in a KY Derby prep race. However, Ferocious is ranked 19th on the KY Derby leaderboard with 8 points.
Moreover, Ferocious will face off in a field of seven at Gulfstream Park in the $265 thousand dollar, 36th Holy Bull at 5:13 PM ET. The 1 and 1/16 mile dirt race is for 3 year-old thoroughbreds.
